Phil & Priscilla Newell: Senior Pastor

Phil & Priscilla have been the pastors of this church since 1977. Previously they served as youth pastors in Pella, Iowa, pastors of the Open Bible Church in Sedalia, Missouri and a three-year stint as Principal of the Open Bible High School on the Island of Trinidad. They have two children and two grandchildren. Their hobbies are reading, entertaining and bicycling. Phil also works as a consultant assisting churches that are either declining or expanding through church planting. He is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry degree at Western Seminary in Portland. Priscilla works as a part-time secretary in the church office, heads up the women's ministries, and assists with a host of other responsibilities around the church.

Glen Woods: Children’s Pastor

Glen has assisted in the children's ministry at Portland Open Bible Church since the spring of 1996. Prior to arriving in Portland he was an elder and Christian Education Director. Glen has worked with children in various roles since the age of sixteen. In addition to helping in the children's ministry at the church Glen is employed at a local business. His hobbies include reading and writing. As time permits Glen also enjoys riding roller coasters and visiting water parks around the country.

Steve & Tracy Icenhower: Columbia Ridge Christian Education

Director, Kids Choir
Director, Sound Technician

Tracey and Steve are celebrating 26 years of marriage. They are both graduates of Oregon Institute of Technology. They have been at Open Bible Church since 1982 and have both worked with various levels of children's ministries, moving up as the kids grew. Since about 1990 Tracey has directed the children's choir, mostly concentrating on musical dramas. From 1993 to the present she has served as the director of the home school co-op at Open Bible (Columbia Ridge Christian Education). Tracey and Steve have four children. Nate just graduated from EBC and is heading to Bend, Oregon to intern for a year under former Portland Open Bible Church Youth Pastor Scott Thomas. Shaun is working as youth staff under Pastor Nathan. Aaron and Anna are both heavily involved in the youth group. We enjoy helping with the youth whenever we can, especially taking groups of them out on our boat to enjoy the rivers around Portland.

Jeff & Karen Bobst: Secretary

Karen is also a graduate of Eugene Bible College and the mother of three boys and a girl. She serves as our church secretary, bookkeeper, and director of our summer Vacation Bible School for children. She also frequently assists in a number of other arenas of ministry. Karen, Jeff and the kids have been with us since March 1998.
