There is a clear assault that the world’s philosophy and value system aggressively brings against today’s children and teenagers. Approximately 90% of people in America who receive Christ, do so before 13 years of age. At Portland Open Bible Church we are on a mission to reach lost kids for Christ. We invest both human and financial resources into reaching young people because we cannot wait for someone else to do it!
Our Mission is to lead people to Jesus and membership in his family, teach them to worship the Lord and magnify his name, develop them to Christlike maturity, and equip them for ministry in the church, and a mission while they’re here on the earth. We have a vision of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and to turn people of all ages into “full-on” followers of Jesus Christ. Our ministries are designed to make disciples by presenting the love of God, the truth of God’s Word and building quality, relationships.
◦ To provide a gathering place where the hurting,
depressed, frustrated, lost and confused, can experience
the love, acceptance, hope, forgiveness, guidance and
encouragement found in Jesus the Savior.
◦ We desire to rescue young people from the world and
build up the next generation as leaders whose lives
exude excellence, while helping them to discover their
God-given gifts and talents, and equipping them for
ministry.
◦ To develop spiritually mature people, who live in and
demonstrate the excellence of the life of Jesus.
◦ Helping them discover their God-given gifts and talents
and preparing them to touch their world with His LIFE.
All of this will be designed to minister to the whole person; spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.
